Your summer of mocktails

Mocktails are having a moment, which is good news for us, because we’ve always loved exploring tasty ways to mix up kencko. Read on to find your new favorite refreshing summer bev!

Your summer of mocktails

It’s summer. It’s warm. It’s generally sunny. And you’re thirsty. We all love water. Water’s great! But like we said: it’s warm. You’re gonna have to drink a lot of water. Or, you could turn to a category of beverages we’ve long loved, and that the rest of the world seems to be coming around to, as well: the mocktail.

For the uninitiated, a mocktail is a cocktail, without the booze. “Now why would you go and do a thing like that, taking the alcohol out of a drink?” Well, because a well constructed mocktail tastes great, and sometimes you don’t want to – or can’t – catch a buzz. Besides, if you’re truly jonesing for a conventional night out, you can always turn a mocktail back into a cocktail.

Mocktails 101

But for the purposes of this blog, we’re talking mocktails, specifically kencko-infused ones. (Which means that each of the following recipes, in addition to tasting great, packs a punch of organic fruits and veggies – talk about a win-win!) So buckle up, track down the following implements, and get ready to channel your inner mixologist:

  • kencko shaker bottle

  • Blender

  • Muddler (or spoon)

  • Measuring cups

  • Measuring spoons

  • Drinking glass

yellows piña colada

If you like piña coladas and getting caught in the rain, and also really like the sweet, comforting flavor profile of our yellows smoothie, then you’re gonna wanna mix up one of these bad boys. Here’s what you’ll need, ingredient-wise:

  • 1 yellows kencko smoothie sachet

  • ¾ cup coconut milk

  • ⅓ cup pineapple juice

  • Ice

  • Optional: whipped cream

  • Also optional: one cherry

How to make it:

  1. Add a handful of ice, you yellows sachet, coconut milk, and pineapple juice to the blender and blend until smooth with no ice pieces

  2. Pour into a glass

  3. Top with whipped cream and a cherry, should you desire

  4. Enjoy!

tropical blues beach breeze

To paraphrase a semi-popular adage: you drink mocktails with your eyes first. And if you want your summer cooler to make a splash visually, the easiest way to pull that off is to make it blue. That’s where this recipe comes in – blue spirulina from blues does the heavy lifting, but it’s the pineapple, orange, and kiwi that’ll ultimately delight your taste buds:

  • 1 blues smoothie sachet

  • ¾ cup coconut water

  • ¼ cup orange juice

  • Ice

  • Sparkling water (as a garnish)

How to make it:

  1. Add the blues smoothie packet, coconut water, orange juice, and a bit of ice to your shaker bottle

  2. Shake vigorously

  3. Strain into a glass and add the desired amount of ice plus a splash of sparkling water.

  4. Mix with spoon gently and enjoy

greens garden cooler

If you’ve been reading along, nodding, and thinking to yourself, okay, kencko, well done, but both of those drinks sound a little too sweet for my tastes, this one’s for you. Think about the refreshing, light cucumber-infused water you’ve perhaps tasted in a hotel lobby. This is like that, but with an added fruit and veggie punch:

  • 1 greens kencko smoothie sachet

  • ½ cucumber, sliced

  • 1 cup of water

  • Juice from ½ lemon

  • Ice

  • Optional: splash of sparkling water

How to make it:

  1. Add the greens smoothie packet, cucumber, water, lemon juice, and some ice to your shaker bottle

  2. Shake vigorously

  3. Strain into a glass and add the desired amount of ice plus an optional splash of sparkling water.

  4. Mix with spoon gently and enjoy
